At 18 years old I taught myself to sew.<\/p>\n

I had been restoring a 1966 Chevy II and when it came to finish the project and interior, I needed to save money and so I borrowed a Singer sewing machine from my Aunt & Uncle to finish the interior myself. It took a\n week for me learn how to make those first stitches and the entire summer to finish that interior.<\/p>\n

That beginning project lit a fire within!<\/p>\n

What started as a few odd jobs of sewing and upholstering for friends, soon developed into my primary income which I used to pay Delta College toward becoming a Mechanical Engineer.<\/p>\n

When I turned 20 years old, I bought out an upholstery shop in Standish, Michigan, to have better equipment and make more money during those college days.<\/p>\n

I was accepted into Michigan Technological University but decided to stay with my small business.<\/p>\n

During those early years we did a lot of the Automotive Upholstery for most of the used car dealers in the Bay City, Michigan area.<\/p>\n

Friends from church asked that I do their boat upholstery & canvas work. I fell in love with building canvas systems and reupholstering boats!<\/p>\n

40 years later- We have 2 shops in Bay City, Michigan and are known Statewide as a destination for: Premium Yacht enclosures, High Quality boat upholstery, Stainless Steel Fabrication, Welding, a variety of marine flooring\n systems, and the most comfortable boat mattresses imaginable!<\/p>\n

My next goal is for Pleasurecraft Outfitters to become the first \u201cGreat Lakes Regional Canvas Refurbishment Center\u201d.<\/p>\n
